| BEOLA
ARGENTATA
This is an orthogneiss deriving
from the stratum of Monte Leone in the "radical zone".
It presents a very pervading and regular foliation, accentuated by
lepidoplasts of white (muscovite) and black (biotite) mica. It
does not present real gneiss layering with a clear separation
between quartz and feldspar lenticulars and films or packets of
micas. The homegeneous fine texture, the reduced grain of the
mineral elements and the abundance of clear mica confer the stone
a light grey colour with very particular silver reflections.
